Nature-Based Solution | Sino-German Track II Dialogue - Fourth Working Group Holds Its First Meeting of 2025

On January 8, 2025, the Fourth Working Group of the Sino-German Track II Dialogue (T2D, WG4) successfully hosted its first meeting of the year. The meeting was co-chaired byDr. Binbin Wang,founder and chief scientist of C-Force Lab of the Institute of Carbon Neutrality, Peking University and Professor Wolfgang Cramer, global ecologist at the University of Potsdam. Janto Hess, Project Director of Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change-Climate Partnership Project at GIZ, was specially invited to attend. The Sino-German expert team engaged in fruitful discussions centered around the 2025 annual plan.

Approved by China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) and the German Federal Foreign Office and Federal Ministry for the Environment,the Sino-German Track II Dialogue (T2D) is a high-level expert dialogue complementing and supporting the official government dialogue and procedures (T1D) between Germany and China. It is co-hosted by the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation and the German Environment Agency (UBA).It is supported byGIZ-implemented IKI project Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change – Climate Partnership.The Fourth Working Group's task is to conduct dialogue and joint research on the synergy between climate change and biodiversity, supporting negotiations between China and Germany.
